Come celebrate our planet’s endless celestial dance!
Proceeds benefit our Water & Warmth program for Warm Springs, and our Community Resilience offerings. Donate by sliding scale that is good for you.
Family, friends, artists, activists, workers, wanderers, doers and dreamers—all are welcome to this winter’s eve gathering. We’ll bow to the past, balance our hearts, and turn toward what lies ahead.
We’re SO happy to be joined this year by Benjy & Heather Wertheimer of Shantala, the much-loved bhakti music ensemble. Through the evening we’ll reflect on the seasons gone by and turn toward the winter with a community candlelighting to warm the darkness. Chanting, stories, and a simple circle dance will fill out the evening.
Early registration is encouraged. Donate here at whatever level feels right to you. (Donations are tax-deductible per IRS rules.) We’ll also have a basket at the Meeting House to accept new and like-new warm clothing for Warm Springs. New socks, scarves, sweaters, shirts, hats, and gloves in all sizes—infants to elders—are welcome.
The Solstice venue is at 4312 SE Stark in Portland. Directions to avoid holiday traffic due to Peacock Lane are below:
By Car: take SE Burnside to 47th Ave. On 47th, turn south and continue to Stark. At Stark, turn right and go west; find street parking near 43rd Ave. OR… take SE Hawthorne to 49th Ave, and turn north on 49th. Continue to Stark and turn left; continue for 6 blocks and look for street parking.
By Bike: Bicycle stands for bikes are on the front sidewalk, or you can wheel your bike inside the gate at the east side of the building, down into the back yard.
By Bus: The nearest bus lines are 4–6 blocks away, on #15 SE Belmont, #75 SE Cesar Chavez, and #20 SE Burnside.
